Gina Funicello, Ph.D., M.S.Ed., C.N.C. is a Certified Nutritional Consultant and a Professional Member of both The National Association of Nutritional Professionals (formerly The Society of Certified Nutritionists) and The American Association of Nutritional Consultants, as well as a Practitioner Member of the American Holistic Health Association. With a Masters degree in Psychology/ Education, permanent liscensure as a NY City/State School Psychologist, and a Doctorate in Holistic Nutrition, she is uniquely skilled at addressing both the psychological and physiological aspects associated with varied patterns of eating.

Trained from a holistic perspective, Dr. Funicello utilizes an approach to wellness that integrates a consideration of all aspects of modern life as they impact upon each of us, given our biochemical individuality. She is committed to helping raise the current level of public awareness with regard to the influence of optimal nutrition and lifestyle choices as they comprise and affect the many facets of overall well-being. She has written, taught, lectured, appeared on television, and offers consultations ranging from home visits and market shopping to telephone sessions. NY clients can choose to schedule office appointments at any of four locations throughout Westchester County.

In Eastchester, Dr. Funicello works specifically with children, caregivers, and families to address the crucial role of diet in ASD's such as Autism, Asperger's, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, ADHD, etc. Through the modification of specific foods and the introduction of key supplements, growth is often observed in a child's overall level of functioning. Development in all areas is often enhanced, including: learning, cognition, language, attention, sleep patterns, socialization, and behavior. Services even include a home visit to address pantry items and a hands-on food market shopping trip to help families transition as smoothly as possible.

Through her New Rochelle office, Dr. Funicello consults with clients coping with myriad health issues- from weight loss to high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, fibromyalgia and so forth. She conducts group workshops on the topics of nutrition and health and is thrilled to be able to provide a means by which people can start to think about the role of diet and lifestyle in the prevention of illness. The center offers services from stress management classes based upon traditional Chinese Medicine to Reflexology and is directed by Dr. Robert Davis, MD, C.Ac and Eileen Achacoso, RN, MA.

Dr. Funicello is also a member of the Advisory Board at a healing center located on the LI Sound and operated by Dr. Harold Osborn, MD. Here, beyond "just" private consultations, she has extend her nutritional services to multiple and varied community groups/agencies- from senior citizens to the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA affiliate programs.
